The Banta Family: Happy One Month Birthday Charlie!

I can't believe my baby is one month already, and boy what a busy month it was! We celebrated Superbowl Sunday, Tim and my 29th birthdays, and Valentine's Day! We had lots of outings which was GREAT for me. I was beginning to go a little stir crazy being stuck in the house in this cold weather. Luckily with some of the warm weather (what a tease) we were able to get Charlie out for a few walks in the fresh air and he loved it!

Charlie is eating and sleeping like a champ, although from 12am to 2am he tends to do nothing but cry. All he wants is to be held. He doesn't have gas, he is not hungry and his diaper is clean. Tim and I realized the second we pick him up he stops. We tried swaddling him, but that didn't work either, he HATES being swaddled! Last night we let him cry in his crib for 10 minutes (which seemed like 10 hours) and he finally cried himself to sleep. Hopefully it will only last a few more nights and he will realize we won't come in to pick him up and he will go to sleep. Every other time we put him down he has no problems, it is only between 12 and 2am...go figure! Other than that he is doing great! He is awake pretty much all morning and totally alert, which is getting really fun. When we put him on his tummy time mat, he literally almost climbs over the little boppy, it is hysterical...i have to get it on video and post it. I have a feeling once he starts moving it is going to be trouble! He definitely recognizes Tim and I and he makes eye contact with us now which is awesome. He is also starting to track objects with his eyes which is really fun too! He is such a snuggler which I love and I hope he NEVER grows out of it!
