Charlie's First Snow Storm

So we decided to take Charlie out in the snow this morning for the first time...not sure it was good timing. He usually goes down for his morning nap between 10:30 and 11, but because Tim was busy snow blowing everyone out of their driveways in the morning and had to go to work at 1, this was the only time. We bundled Charlie up in his snowsuit (thank you Melissa and Dave) which was quite the fiasco. Trying to get his boots on was quite a project. Thank God DeDe was there to distract him the best she could. By the time we were ready to go outside I was sweating (shocking I know) and Charlie was miserable. The video camera of course had no batteries, so the regular camera was all we had. Tim stood Charlie in the snow and down he went on his butt. He didn't really know what to think of it. I think if he wasn't so tired he would have liked it a little more. We were only out there for MAYBE five minutes tops, but it was a nice experience for him, well maybe more for mom and dad...lol! When we got inside I changed his diaper and he actually fell asleep on the changing table, so I guess he was pretty tired. Here are some pictures of Charlie's first snow storm.

Charlie had enough!
Besides his first snow storm a lot has been going on. Charlie is standing up all by himself. You can tell he wants to take a step, but he is a little unsure of himself. He has been eating like CRAZY!!! Tonight he had four mini raviolis and a meatball for dinner, plus peas! He loves real food and will pretty much eat whatever we give him, with some exceptions. He is a lot like his mother, and if he doesn't like the texture of something he will not eat it. The other night he had two pieces of pork...what 11 month old eats pork...it was hysterical. He loved it.

We put our tree up and he really has not bothered with it. Every once in a while he will point to the tree and we will take him near it so he can touch the ornaments, but that is it. We are really looking forward to Christmas time with our friends and family. After Christmas we are going up to Old Forge, NY with my cousin and her son, Sebastian who is 4 months younger than Charlie. We are really looking forward to spending time with them. Tim is really looking forward to snow mobiling...I probably won't see much of him!

Anyway, here are some pictures of our tree. I will be sure to update again after Christmas, when we get back from Old Forge. Enjoy....

I also had some strong desire to bake Christmas cookies for the first time. It was an all day project. The problem is, I worked so hard on them I don't want anyone to eat them, lol, but I really did enjoy it! I look forward to baking more for Charlie's first birthday!
